The Schmidt-Rubin 1911 rifle is an improved version of the 1889, with a stronger action to accommodate a more powerful version of the 7.5×55 cartridge, known as the GP11. 1911’s feature a smooth straight-pull action initiated by pulling the stainless steel charging handle with composite grips. Other features include a detachable 5 round magazine, and an improved wood stock over the original 1889 stock. The subtle improvements on this and other variants really showcase the longevity and dependability of this series of rifle, as do the condition of the rifle today.
With it’s looks, rarity, performance and pedigree, there is no question that a Swiss 1911 rifle would round out even the most avid enthusiasts collection.
