This particular rifle’s bore condition is excellent, finish shows slight wear form handling at the butt end of the stock, and visible patina on the butt plate, rear sight, safety lever pull ring, and charging handle. This rifle is missing the end cap for the top charging handle knob. on the charging handle, safety lever pull ring, butt plate, and magazine. The NRA grading for this rifle would be “good” condition. The Schmidt-Rubin model 1889 is a musket length, straight-pull bolt action infantryman rifle and the patriarch of the Schmidt-Rubin series of rifles. Chambered in the first version of the 7.5×55 Swiss cartridge (known as GP90), The 1889 Features include steel charging handle with composite knobs, and a 12 round fixed magazine. While there are some visible wear marks from storage and use, the condition of this rifle is very good for its age (which is well over 100 years!)
