Our popular Romanian under-folder parts kit is now available with a brand new cold hammer forged, US made unpopulated barrel!

This parts kit is perfect for the enthusiast who has been wanting to build an AK from scratch. Featuring the same quality Cold War era parts kit with a hammer forged trunnion and all original components and furniture, we have added a cold hammer forged, nitride coated 16″ barrel with a 1:9 twist. Builders need only a receiver and rivets to begin building their very own piece of history or super practical truck gun. 

Produced in the 60’s, ’70s and ’80s. All internal parts of a vintage AK-47 that can be sold come in this kit, and all parts are in fair to good condition, with some of the dongs and gas tubes embellished with engravings from when they were first issued to Romanian soldiers! Gas tube furniture may also be cracked and show signs of wear. Due to the demilling process small parts like pins/springs may be missing and/or unserviceable. This can vary from kit to kit. 

These kits are high-quality, making a significant contribution to your collection or AK47. The serial numbers with the year of production can be found matching on the trunnion, bolt, and bolt carrier. Some components (rivets, sear, receiver, barrel) must be purchased to complete this kit. 

Due to the demilling process small parts like pins/springs may be missing and/or unserviceable. This can vary from kit to kit. 

NOTE: Firearms should be assembled and inspected by a competent gunsmith.

    Kit was one of the last one with a barrel. It was missing gas tube and safety selector . The folks at max arms had the missing parts in the mail the same day I called about them . One of the kits I got was pretty well used up while the other was in good condition.

    5 star review, great kit only problem is the barrel was not the right size because the trunion was oversized. Timely shipping and will definitely order from maxarms again.

    Sorry to have to give only a 3 star rating actually 3+. My self and 2 of my buddies have ordered more than a few of these kits and have always been VERY happy with them, some a bit rougher than others but overall, very acceptable. However, this kit looked like it was at the bottom of the barrel, parts were not matching and extremely worn. Hardly any finish on anything and even the firing pin was completely seized up in the bolt and the gas tube wood is unusable (which I expected) and the lower guard was really rough (may or may not use it) I understand it's the luck of the draw and didn't complain but honestly a bit disappointed compared to kits in the past

    Yep...nice kit. Cleaned up nicely and all matching numbers. Little wear but still will make a pretty decent shooter. I have bought several in the last couple years and always been happy with what I got from maxarms. It is as advertised. So now I got a little prep ...decrease a bit more then paint...start squishing some rivets. :)

    I searched for a reasonable deal on a AK 47 Builders Kit. MAX had great price and super quick shipment. Kit came as advertised decent shape and BCG looked really clean. I am hoping to snag another before they are out of stock

    I haven't had a chance to install the kit yet, but when the parts came in my initial inspection was that they look to be quality parts. I'm looking forward to getting started on my build this weekend. Now if you could just get a Bulgarian 74 parts kit.

    Very pleased with this kit. The finish is good on all of the parts. I looked at multiple vendors and MaxArms was the best overall for quality, communication, and value.

    These Kits are getting harder and harder to find, at least for under folders. ill get the bad out the way first, upon arrival i was slightly disappointed in the kit i received, hence the 4/5 star. the kit pictured looks nothing like what i got, almost all the parts where "in the white" in terms of finish wear except the carrier and Trunnions, the upper hand guard is cracked, and the wood was miss-matched, light upper handguard and dark red/brown lower handguard wit the front spring missing. the kit pictured looks way better than what i got but took a lot of work out of prepping for a new finish so its not all that bad, just not what i was expecting from the picture posted above. The good though is these guys ship fast, ill say that right off the bat, i was surprised how quickly the kit showed up, the barrel, I'm not sure who its made by, is very high quality, the notches and ejector cut are clean cut and are in the right spots, the gas port is well done and the threading on the barrel is very clean and has good weight to it. the lower hand guard has trench art with names and notches and is a reverse dong which surprised me, very cool considering what people pay and the amount of work that some guys do to do the whole reverse dong grip. all the little pins and springs are present, all parts are present and in good shape, all the parts # matched and my favorite thing about this kit is the factory numbers for the rifle:1776, you read that right, that in itself made the other issues not so bad. all in all you cannot go wrong with this kit from M.A, just know that you may or may not get a kit in the same shape as the picture.

    Kit came in very good condition. This one was much better condition than the matching kit I purchased from another major vendor. This is the best value left for a 65 kit. As always with Max Arms, shipped super fast!
